What is the best pet in Aion 2?
There is no best species. Pets in one genus share the insight 3 owned effect. Cogni is the best offensive genus (HP, Critical Hit, Might). Farm whichever Cogni you can kill at your level. The tier list ranks lines and genera, not mascots.
How many pets are in Aion 2?
This site preserves 207 source rows, checked 15 Oct 2026: Cogni 41, Fera 65, Natura 48, Varian 46, Special 7. The source page dates its EU client extract 11 Oct 2026. Wikily lists 206 and Special 6; Elite Grind Lab lists 207 and Special 7. Two is a real Special record (pet 1299), not a placeholder to delete. The collection-count difference remains unresolved. How does the Genus Insight calculator work?
It adds published soul costs (5 + 25 + 75), published EXP (500 / 250 / 250 plus 100 per open slot per analysis), and the Wikily lock-cost table. It does not invent insight level thresholds beyond the single 5,000 EXP marker for level 4. Open the calculator.
How many souls does a pet need?
105 to reach insight 3 on the global client: 5 to unlock, 25 more for level 2, 75 more for level 3. Korean and Taiwanese clients are reported at level 5. Do not plan global farms with that higher cap.
How do you farm Aion 2 soul crystals?
Max a pet, then keep killing that monster for its family crystal. Milestones pay bound wildcard crystals. Duty quests, hidden cubes, and keys feed Special and the wildcard pile. Details and confidence labels are on the farm guide.
Where are Aion 2 pet locations?
The extract places field pets in Verteron, Altgard, and Chaotic Lower Reshanta. Each pet page lists the areas we actually captured. The location index is the map we can stand behind. Pin-level maps elsewhere cover fewer species.
What is the difference between Cogni, Fera, Natura, Varian, and Special?
Cogni is HP, Critical Hit, and Might. Fera is mount speed, Accuracy, and Dexterity. Natura is Stamina, crit resist, and Precision. Varian is sprint-cost reduction, Evasion, and Constitution. Special has no published owned effect. Its board is the prize. Numbers are on the genus pages.
Should you lock Genus Insight lines early?
No. Locking raises the crystal and Kinah cost and, according to the guides we cite, locked lines do not grant analysis EXP. Wait until the board is insight 9 or 10, then lock a line that is already close to its maximum.
Do pet stats work if the pet is not out?
Yes. Owned effects and insight-board lines are collection stats. Summoning chooses your mount and transform, not whether the stats are on.
Is pet insight level 3 the cap?
On the global client, the guides agree the pet itself caps at insight 3. The genus board is a separate track and is described as opening slots through level 9, with level 10 cited as the max. Korea and Taiwan are reported to have pet level 5 already.
Which pets are best for each class?
Damage classes (Gladiator, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster) want Cogni then Fera. Templar adds Varian and Natura. Cleric wants Natura and Cogni HP. Chanter mixes Cogni with the defensive genera. Per-class notes are on the class index. Spiritmaster spirits are not collection pets.
Are these stats official?
No. This is an unofficial fan guide. Pet names, genera, and listed drops come from a client-table extract. Owned effects and crystal costs are cross-checked against several fan sites. Anything one site said alone is labeled single-source. Anything we could not check is labeled unverified. NCSoft can change the tables in a patch.
